Sarah
Jorgenson, soprano, has taught at both the community and collegiate
levels. Mrs. Jorgenson has extensive experience performing on stage in
the genres of musical theater and opera. She has performed leading
roles during her academic studies as well as with community and
professional theaters throughout the region. Sarah has been chosen to
sing with various orchestras including the Wyoming Symphony and the New
York Sinfonia. She has won numerous vocal competitions and was chosen
as the soprano soloist for Mendelssohn's Psalm 42 to perform at
Carnegie Hall. She can be heard on the newest Mannheim Steamroller
Christmas album "Christmas Extraordinaire". Mrs. Jorgenson has been
employed as a section leader for the nationally known Casper Children's
Chorale, the children's vocal coach for the Star City Dinner Theater,
the Head of the Voice department at Peru State College and is the
current director for the childrens' choir at Plymouth UCC. She is a
member of the actors' Equity Membership Candidacy program (EMC), the
National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) organization, and
the international music fraternity Sigma Alpha Iota (SAI). Since moving
from NYC, Sarah has re-established her music studio serving Des Moines,
IA and the surrounding areas.
